Dr. Aaron Carroll

Contributor, Sound Medicine

Dr. Aaron Carroll, a professor of pediatrics and the assistant dean for Research Mentoring at the Indiana University School of Medicine, often joins the Sound Medicine program to speak on health policy.

Dr. Carroll is a contributor to the New York Times "Upshot" feature, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times and Newsweek, among other publications. He's also an editor for The Incidental Economist.

After graduating with a B.A. in Chemistry from the Amherst College, Dr. Carroll obtained a M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and his M.S. in health services from the University of Washington.

Carroll has received various honors and awards, including the National Merit Scholar and the Sigma Xi Honors Society from Amherst College; the Fellows Award from Ambulatory Pediatrics; the Dr. Quentin Young Health Activist Award and the IUPUI Trustees Teaching Award.
